Sayers common in Sussex - master planning for the expansion of the village

The proposal was to expand the small existing village up to 2500 residents providing you village centre facilities clustered around those which already exist. The proposals centred around incorporating a number of existing features and facilities such as the existing village green small areas of woodland, and large trees, streams etc. The scheme is planned around a traditional Sussex village in scale. The village centre buildings would be compact and densely planned whereas those of the village edge would be of a much lower density. To create a calm and peaceful pedestrian dominated atmosphere for paths and cycle ways would be separated from roads. This would enable people to walk directly into the village centre via a green route. These green fingers of land which separate different blocks of residential area and allow the countryside to flow deep into the village. These walks would incorporate the existing small Brooks which run through the village.
